  4. Hey I know this is off topic but I was wondering if you knew of any widgets I could add to my blog that automatically tweet my newest twitter updates. I’ve been looking for a plug-in like this for quite some time and was hoping maybe you would have some experience with something like this. Please let me know if you run into anything. I truly enjoy reading your blog and I look forward to your new updates.

  5. OK — have been messing about with this thing for maybe five months now and it’s stuck on my phone, so thought I’d write something up since a mate asked me last week. Am in the UK, mostly bet football and racing, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.

How I found it was genuinely embarrassing — I couldn’t ever get my head round what an ew payout actually came to once you get five places instead of three. Basically I’d eyeball it and then be surprised. These days I type the odds in before I place anything, even a straight one-selection punt.

The single bet calculator tool is the part I’m on daily — type in your stake, the odds and you get profit and total return with no faffing, either odds format. It also handles the fiddly ones — acca and treble maths, lucky 15s, yankees, which is where I always lose track. Have a go yourself, it’s over at betting returns calculator and it’s free with no account nonsense.

The thing that actually changed how I bet were the nerdier bits. The implied probability converter and it makes obvious the overround, plus a kelly criterion tool — I use half kelly because full kelly is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutch tool is handy too when I’m spreading across selections.

Not all sunshine though. Its design looks pretty plain — not much polish, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On my phone it’s usable but the bigger tables are a squeeze. There’s no app, it’s browser only — slight shame just flagging it.

Right, that’s me. Doesn’t cost anything, barely any ads, works. If you even now does the maths on paper, give it a go — saved me a load of dumb bets I’d have regretted.

أنا مدمن Gates of Olympus وSweet Bonanza، ومن وقت للتاني بجرب Book of Dead.

  10. Right — been using this thing for maybe six months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, reckon I’d chuck my thoughts in since a mate asked me the other day. Am based in the UK, mainly stick to footie and the horses, small stakes, so take it how you like.

The reason I started using it was genuinely pretty stupid — I could never figure out what an e/w payout would be when the place terms changed. I used to just guess and get a shock. Now I type the odds in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.

The single bet calculator is the bit I use most — type in stake and odds and it shows profit and total return straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. Same tool covers the bigger stuff — trebles maths, a lucky 15, a yankee, and that’s where I’d always got it wrong. If you fancy a poke about, it lives at trixie bet calculator and it’s free with no account nonsense.

What really shifted things for me was the geekier bits. There’s an odds-to-probability converter which shows you the overround, plus a kelly criterion tool — I run quarter kelly because full kelly is far too aggressive. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit if I’m covering two or three runners.

It’s not perfect mind. The design looks very functional, let’s say — no frills, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. Phone-wise it’s fine though the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. Also there’s nothing on the app store, it’s browser only — fine by me but worth saying.

Anyway. Free, no ads shoved in your face, works. If you honestly adds it up in their head, give it a go — it’s saved me a load of arguments with the bookie.
