  7. Right — been using this thing for about six months now and I keep coming back, so thought I’d say something since a mate asked me the other day. Am based in the UK, mostly bet football and racing, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I’m coming from.

What got me on it was actually embarrassing — I could never work out what an e/w payout would be once you get five places instead of three. I’d just guess and get a shock. Now I type the odds in first, every time, even the boring singles.

Their single bet calculator is the bit I use most — you drop in the price and your stake and you get the return with no faffing, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. There’s also the fiddly ones — trebles returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, yankees, which is where I’d always got it wrong. If you want a look, it’s over at treble accumulator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.

What actually made a difference were the geekier tools. They’ve got an odds-to-probability calculator which shows you the overround, plus a kelly tool — I use half kelly since full stakes are terrifying. Dutching calculator is handy too when I’m splitting a race.

Couple of gripes. The layout is a bit basic — not much polish, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it works though the lucky 63 breakdown are a squeeze. Also there’s no proper app, just the site — slight shame but worth saying.

Anyway. Costs nowt, barely any ads, works. Anyone who still works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — saves me a load of « wait, that’s it? » moments.

  8. Aw, this was an exceptionally nice post. Spending some time and actual effort to make a top notch article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a whole lot and don’t manage to get nearly anything done.

  9. Wow that was strange. I just wrote an really long comment but after I clicked submit my comment didn’t appear. Grrrr… well I’m not writing all that over again. Regardless, just wanted to say fantastic blog!

  10. So — have been messing about with this thing for something like a few months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, reckon I’d write something up since a mate asked me last week. I’m UK based, generally do football and horses, small stakes, so take it how you like.

The reason I started using it was honestly embarrassing — I never could figure out what an ew return would be once you get five places instead of three. I’d just guess and get a shock. Now type the odds in first, every time, even a simple single bet.

The single bet calculator is the part I use most — you put in stake and odds and it spits out the return instantly, either odds format. Same tool covers the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15s, patents and yankees, which is where most people I know lose track. Have a go yourself, it’s here bet returns calculator — free, no signup.

The thing that actually changed how I bet was the nerdier extras. The probability converter and it makes obvious the overround, and there’s the kelly calculator — I stick to fractional kelly as the full version is terrifying. The dutching one is handy too when I’m splitting a race.

Not all sunshine though. Its design feels a bit basic — no frills, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On my phone it’s fine although the bigger tables are a squeeze. And nothing on the app store, it’s browser only — slight shame but worth saying.

Anyway. Free, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. If you still does the maths on paper, have a look — saved me plenty of « wait, that’s it? » moments.

  20. Can I simply just say what a comfort to discover someone that truly understands what they are discussing online. You certainly know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. A lot more people must check this out and understand this side of the story. I can’t believe you are not more popular given that you definitely possess the gift.

  21. So — have been messing about with this thing for maybe a few months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so figured I’d chuck my thoughts in since someone asked me a few days back. Am in the UK, generally bet football and racing, nothing mad, for context.

How I found it was honestly a bit daft — I couldn’t ever work out what an e/w payout actually was when the place terms changed. I’d just eyeball it and then be surprised. These days I stick my stake in before I place anything, even the boring singles.

Their single bet calculator is the part I open most — type in your stake, the odds and it spits out the return instantly, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. It also handles the multiples — trebles returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, patents and yankees, and that’s where I’d always lose track. If you fancy a poke about, it’s here kelly criterion excel formula — free, no signup.

The thing that genuinely made a difference is the nerdier tools. They’ve got an odds-to-probability calculator which shows you how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly criterion calculator — I run quarter kelly since full stakes are far too aggressive. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit when I’m spreading across selections.

Not all sunshine though. The design feels pretty plain — zero flash, it’s clearly function over form. On mobile it’s usable though the lucky 63 breakdown make you pinch and zoom. And no app, it’s a website and that’s it — slight shame just flagging it.

So yeah. Doesn’t cost anything, no ads shoved in your face, does the job. Anyone who honestly does the maths on paper, try it — saves me a load of arguments with the bookie.
