  6. May I simply say what a relief to find somebody who genuinely knows what they are talking about on the net. You certainly realize how to bring an issue to light and make it important. 7. Right — been using this thing for maybe five months now and I keep coming back, reckon I’d write something up since a mate asked me the other day. Am UK based, generally do football and horses, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.

The reason I started using it was honestly a bit daft — I could never figure out what an each way payout actually was with 1/5 odds a place. I used to just eyeball it and get a shock. These days I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even the boring singles.

The single bet calculator tool is the one I use most — type in stake and odds and you get the return with no faffing, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. Same tool covers the bigger stuff — acca and treble returns, lucky 15s, yankees, honestly that’s where I always mess it up. Have a go yourself, it’s over at each way odds — free, no signup.

What actually made a difference is the geekier bits. They’ve got an odds-to-probability converter that shows how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly calculator — I stick to fractional kelly since full stakes are far too aggressive. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit when I’m covering two or three runners.

Not all sunshine though. The design is a bit basic — no flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it’s fine though the bigger tables make you pinch and zoom. And no proper app, it’s browser only — fine by me just flagging it.

Right, that’s me. Doesn’t cost anything, barely any ads, does the job. If you still does the maths on paper, give it a go — saves me a fair few arguments with the bookie.

  16. So — have been messing about with this thing for about six months now and it’s stuck on my phone, reckon I’d chuck my thoughts in since a mate asked me the other day. I’m based in the UK, mostly bet football and racing, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.

The reason I started using it was actually embarrassing — I never could figure out what an each way payout actually was when the place terms changed. Basically I’d wing it and get a shock. These days I stick my stake in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.

Their single bet calculator is the bit I’m on daily — you drop in stake and odds and it shows the return straight away, fractions or decimals. It also handles the multiples — doubles and trebles returns, a lucky 15, yankees, and that’s where I’d always lose track. Have a go yourself, it’s here lucky 15 calculator free and it’s free with no account nonsense.

What really changed how I bet is the geekier extras. They’ve got an odds-to-probability converter that shows how much the bookie’s taking, and a kelly criterion calculator — I run quarter kelly as the full version is a quick route to a dead bankroll. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit for when I’m splitting a race.

Not all sunshine though. The design feels a bit basic — no polish, it’s clearly function over form. Phone-wise it’s usable though the lucky 63 breakdown are a squeeze. Also there’s no proper app, just the site — fine by me just flagging it.

Anyway. Free, no ads shoved in your face, does what it says. Anyone who honestly does the maths on paper, try it — saves me plenty of arguments with the bookie.
