  1. Hey I know this is off topic but I was wondering if you knew of any widgets I could add to my blog that automatically tweet my newest twitter updates. I’ve been looking for a plug-in like this for quite some time and was hoping maybe you would have some experience with something like this. Please let me know if you run into anything. I truly enjoy reading your blog and I look forward to your new updates.

  2. Right — have been messing about with this thing for something like six months now and I keep coming back, so figured I’d write something up since a lad on another thread asked me last week. Am in the UK, mostly do football and horses, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.

What got me on it was genuinely a bit daft — I could never figure out what an e/w payout actually was once you get five places instead of three. I used to just wing it and get a shock. Now I type the odds in before I place anything, even a straight one-selection punt.

Their single bet calculator tool is the bit I’m on daily — type in stake and odds and it shows returns with no faffing, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. There’s also the fiddly ones — trebles maths, a lucky 15, patents and yankees, and that’s where I always got it wrong. If you want a look, it’s over at odds converter — free, no signup.

One thing that genuinely made a difference is the nerdier bits. They’ve got an odds-to-probability calculator that shows what margin’s baked in, and a kelly tool — I use half kelly as the full version is far too aggressive. The dutching one gets used a fair bit if I’m splitting a race.

Couple of gripes. Its layout feels pretty plain — no flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On mobile it’s fine although the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. There’s no app, just the site — slight shame but worth saying.

Right, that’s me. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. If anyone still works out returns on a calculator app, have a look — saved me plenty of « wait, that’s it? » moments.

  5. Wow that was odd. I just wrote an really long comment but after I clicked submit my comment didn’t appear. Grrrr… well I’m not writing all that over again. Anyways, just wanted to say fantastic blog!

  6. OK — been on this thing for maybe four months now and I keep coming back, so thought I’d say something since a lad on another thread asked me last week. Am UK based, mostly stick to footie and the horses, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I’m coming from.

What got me on it was actually embarrassing — I couldn’t ever figure out what an each way payout actually was when the place terms changed. I’d just guess and get a shock. These days I stick my stake in first, every time, even the boring singles.

Their single bet calculator is the part I open most — you put in stake and odds and it shows profit and total return straight away, either odds format. Same tool covers the multiples — doubles and trebles returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, yankees, and that’s where I’d always got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it lives at betting odds converter and it’s free with no account nonsense.

What actually made a difference were the more serious extras. The odds-to-probability thing and it makes obvious how much the bookie’s taking, and a kelly staking tool — I use half kelly as the full version is a quick route to a dead bankroll. Dutching calculator is decent if I’m splitting a race.

Not all sunshine though. Its design is a bit basic — zero polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it’s fine but the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. And no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — fine by me but worth saying.

Anyway. Doesn’t cost anything, no ads shoved in your face, does what it says. If you honestly works out returns on a calculator app, try it — saved me plenty of dumb bets I’d have regretted.

  7. Aw, this was an exceptionally nice post. Finding the time and actual effort to generate a very good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a lot and don’t manage to get anything done.

  9. OK — been using this thing for about five months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, reckon I’d say something since a mate asked me the other day. Am in the UK, mainly bet football and racing, small stakes, just so you know where I’m coming from.

What got me on it was genuinely pretty stupid — I never could figure out what an e/w return actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. Basically I’d wing it and get a shock. Now I type the odds in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.

Their single bet calculator is the one I use most — type in your stake, the odds and it spits out the return instantly, fractions or decimals. Same tool covers the bigger stuff — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, yankees, which is where most people I know got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it lives at odds probability calculator and it’s free with no account nonsense.

One thing that really shifted things for me is the geekier tools. They’ve got an probability calculator which shows you the overround, plus a kelly staking tool — I stick to fractional kelly as the full version is far too aggressive. The dutching one is handy too when I’m covering two or three runners.

Couple of gripes. The interface looks pretty plain — not much flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it’s usable although the lucky 63 breakdown are a squeeze. And no proper app, it’s browser only — fine by me just flagging it.

Right, that’s me. Costs nowt, no ads shoved in your face, works. Anyone who still adds it up in their head, have a look — saves me a load of « wait, that’s it? » moments.

  10. Good stuff, I’ll be coming back to reference this.
Basically, the useful bit is that you feed it a photo and the Morse Code Image Decoder handles turning that Morse into English. That workflow is what makes the page stand out to me. It sits inside a free Morse translator and converter, so you can also switch over and translate typed text or Morse instantly. If you need it, the site also lets you play or download audio and flash Morse as light.

  12. Aw, this was an extremely nice post. Taking a few minutes and actual effort to generate a great article… but what can I say… I put things off a whole lot and don’t manage to get anything done.

  13. Hello there, You’ve performed an excellent job. I will definitely digg it and individually recommend to my friends. I’m confident they’ll be benefited from this site.

  14. Aw, this was a really nice post. Finding the time and actual effort to create a good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a whole lot and never manage to get nearly anything done.

  15. Right — been using this thing for about a few months now and it’s stuck on my phone, reckon I’d write something up since someone asked me a few days back. Am based in the UK, mainly do football and horses, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I’m coming from.

How I found it was honestly embarrassing — I couldn’t ever get my head round what an e/w return actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. Basically I’d wing it and moan when the payout landed. Now type the odds in first, every time, even a simple single bet.

The single bet calculator is the one I’m on daily — you put in your stake, the odds and it shows returns straight away, fractions or decimals. It also handles the fiddly ones — trebles returns, lucky 15s, yankees, and that’s where I always got it wrong. If you want a look, it’s over at lucky 15 calc — free, no signup.

The thing that actually made a difference is the more serious tools. The odds-to-probability converter that shows how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly tool — I run quarter kelly as the full version is far too aggressive. The dutching one gets used a fair bit if I’m spreading across selections.

Couple of gripes. Its interface is pretty plain — no flash, it’s clearly function over form. On mobile it’s fine although the bigger tables are a squeeze. Also there’s nothing on the app store, it’s a website and that’s it — fine by me but you asked.

Right, that’s me. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, works. If anyone still works out returns on a calculator app, try it — saved me plenty of arguments with the bookie.

  19. Can I simply just say what a relief to find somebody who genuinely knows what they’re discussing online. You certainly understand how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people must read this and understand this side of your story. It’s surprising you aren’t more popular given that you definitely have the gift.
