  6. So — been using this thing for something like four months now and it’s stuck on my phone, reckon I’d say something since a lad on another thread asked me a few days back. Am in the UK, mostly stick to footie and the horses, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I’m coming from.

What got me on it was honestly embarrassing — I couldn’t ever work out what an ew payout actually came to once you get five places instead of three. I’d just wing it and then be surprised. Now punch the numbers in first, every time, even a simple single bet.

Their single bet calculator tool is the one I’m on daily — you put in the price and your stake and it spits out profit and total return straight away, fractions or decimals. It also handles the multiples — acca and treble returns, a lucky 15, a yankee, honestly that’s where I always got it wrong. If you fancy a poke about, it lives at save the student matched betting calculator and it’s free with no account nonsense.

One thing that genuinely made a difference is the more serious bits. The implied probability converter and it makes obvious the overround, and there’s the kelly staking calculator — I run quarter kelly as the full version is terrifying. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit if I’m spreading across selections.

It’s not perfect mind. The design is very functional, let’s say — no polish, it’s clearly function over form. Phone-wise it works though the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. There’s nothing on the app store, just the site — fine by me just flagging it.

Anyway. Free, barely any ads, does the job. Anyone who even now does the maths on paper, give it a go — saves me a fair few arguments with the bookie.

  10. Aw, this was an exceptionally good post. Taking a few minutes and actual effort to produce a top notch article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a whole lot and never manage to get nearly anything done.

  18. Right — been using this thing for something like four months now and I keep coming back, so thought I’d write something up since someone asked me a few days back. I’m in the UK, mostly stick to footie and the horses, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.

The reason I started using it was honestly a bit daft — I could never figure out what an each way return actually was once you get five places instead of three. I’d just guess and then be surprised. These days I type the odds in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.

Their single bet calculator tool is the bit I open most — type in your stake, the odds and it spits out the return with no faffing, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. Same tool covers the fiddly ones — trebles returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, yankees, honestly that’s where I always mess it up. If you fancy a poke about, it’s over at odds matching — free, no signup.

What really changed how I bet is the nerdier tools. There’s an odds-to-probability thing which shows you the overround, and a kelly criterion tool — I stick to fractional kelly since full stakes are terrifying. The dutching one gets used a fair bit when I’m spreading across selections.

Couple of gripes. The interface feels a bit basic — no polish, it’s clearly function over form. Phone-wise it works but the bigger tables are a squeeze. Also there’s no app, it’s browser only — slight shame but worth saying.

Anyway. Free, not plastered in adverts, does the job. If anyone still adds it up in their head, have a look — it’s saved me a load of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
