Aw, this was a very good post. Finding the time and actual effort to generate a really good article… but what can I say… I hesitate a lot and don’t manage to get nearly anything done.
May I just say what a relief to find someone that really understands what they’re talking about on the net. You certainly understand how to bring an issue to light and make it important. A lot more people need to read this and understand this side of the story. I was surprised that you are not more popular since you definitely possess the gift.
Right — have been messing about with this thing for something like four months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so figured I’d chuck my thoughts in since a lad on another thread asked me last week. I’m UK based, generally do football and horses, nothing mad, for context.
The reason I started using it was actually pretty stupid — I could never work out what an ew return actually was when the place terms changed. I’d just eyeball it and then be surprised. These days I stick my stake in first, every time, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator tool is the part I use most — you put in the price and your stake and you get profit and total return with no faffing, either odds format. Same tool covers the multiples — trebles maths, lucky 15s, a yankee, which is where I’d always lose track. If you want a look, it’s here novig calculator and it’s free with no account nonsense.
One thing that actually changed how I bet were the geekier extras. There’s an odds-to-probability thing and it makes obvious how much the bookie’s taking, and a kelly criterion tool — I use half kelly because full kelly is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit for when I’m splitting a race.
It’s not perfect mind. Its layout is very functional, let’s say — zero polish, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it’s usable though the bigger tables are a squeeze. Also there’s no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — fine by me just flagging it.
Right, that’s me. Costs nowt, no ads shoved in your face, works. If you even now adds it up in their head, give it a go — it’s saved me a load of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
So — have been messing about with this thing for about six months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, reckon I’d write something up since a mate asked me the other day. Am UK based, mostly do football and horses, nothing mad, just so you know where I’m coming from.
The reason I started using it was actually a bit daft — I never could get my head round what an e/w return actually was with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just eyeball it and moan when the payout landed. These days I stick my stake in first, every time, even a simple single bet.
Their single bet calculator tool is the part I open most — you drop in stake and odds and you get the return with no faffing, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. There’s also the bigger stuff — acca and treble maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, patents and yankees, honestly that’s where most people I know got it wrong. If you want a look, it’s here l15 calculator — free, no signup.
The thing that really made a difference is the geekier bits. They’ve got an odds-to-probability converter that shows what margin’s baked in, and a kelly criterion calculator — I run quarter kelly as the full version is terrifying. The dutch tool is decent when I’m spreading across selections.
It’s not perfect mind. The design looks a bit basic — zero flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it’s fine but the lucky 63 breakdown are a squeeze. And no proper app, it’s browser only — fine by me but you asked.
Anyway. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. If anyone honestly works out returns on a calculator app, have a look — saved me plenty of « wait, that’s it? » moments.

I’ve been looking for a plug-in like this for quite some time and was hoping maybe you would have some experience with something like this. Please let me know if you run into anything. I truly enjoy reading your blog and I look forward to your new updates.
Excellent pieces. Keep writing such kind of information on your blog. Im really impressed by your site.
Right — been using this thing for something like four months now and I keep coming back, reckon I’d chuck my thoughts in since someone asked me the other day. I’m UK based, generally do football and horses, a fiver here and there, for context.
How I found it was genuinely a bit daft — I couldn’t ever figure out what an each way return actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. I used to just guess and get a shock. Now I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even the boring singles.
The single bet calculator tool is the part I’m on daily — type in your stake, the odds and it spits out returns with no faffing, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. Same tool covers the fiddly ones — acca and treble maths, lucky 15s, a yankee, which is where I always lose track. If you want a look, it’s over at kelly criterion excel formula and it’s free with no account nonsense.
One thing that genuinely made a difference is the geekier extras. There’s an odds-to-probability converter and it makes obvious what margin’s baked in, and a kelly tool — I use half kelly since full stakes are terrifying. The dutch tool is decent if I’m covering two or three runners.
It’s not perfect mind. Its interface feels pretty plain — not much polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it’s fine although the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. And no proper app, just the site — slight shame but worth saying.
So yeah. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, does the job. If you honestly does the maths on paper, give it a go — it’s saved me a load of arguments with the bookie.
Right now it sounds like Expression Engine is the preferred blogging platform out there right now. (from what I’ve read) Is that what you are using on your blog?
May I simply just say what a comfort to find somebody who really knows what they are discussing online. You actually understand how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More and more people need to check this out and understand this side of your story. I was surprised you aren’t more popular since you certainly have the gift.

OK — been using this thing for something like six months now and it’s stuck on my phone, so thought I’d say something since a lad on another thread asked me last week. I’m in the UK, mainly do football and horses, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.
The reason I started using it was genuinely embarrassing — I could never work out what an each way return actually came to when the place terms changed. I used to just guess and get a shock. Now punch the numbers in before I place anything, even a straight one-selection punt.
The single bet calculator tool is the bit I open most — type in the price and your stake and it spits out returns with no faffing, either odds format. It also handles the bigger stuff — acca and treble maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, patents and yankees, and that’s where I’d always lose track. Have a go yourself, it’s here work out lucky 63 and it’s free with no account nonsense.
The thing that really made a difference were the more serious tools. The implied probability converter which shows you what margin’s baked in, and there’s the kelly staking calculator — I run quarter kelly as the full version is terrifying. Dutching calculator is decent if I’m spreading across selections.
Couple of gripes. Its design feels very functional, let’s say — not much flash, it’s clearly function over form. On mobile it’s usable though the acca grid are a squeeze. Also there’s no app, just the site — doesn’t bother me just flagging it.
Right, that’s me. Free, not plastered in adverts, does the job. If anyone honestly works out returns on a calculator app, have a look — saves me a fair few arguments with the bookie.
