  1. Aw, this was a very nice post. Spending some time and actual effort to create a very good article… but what can I say… I put things off a whole lot and never manage to get nearly anything done.

  6. Aw, this was an extremely good post. Taking a few minutes and actual effort to produce a great article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a whole lot and don’t seem to get nearly anything done.

  13. OK — been using this thing for something like six months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so figured I’d chuck my thoughts in since a mate asked me last week. Am based in the UK, mostly stick to footie and the horses, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.

How I found it was genuinely embarrassing — I couldn’t ever get my head round what an ew payout actually came to once you get five places instead of three. Basically I’d wing it and get a shock. These days I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.

The single bet calculator is the part I’m on daily — you put in your stake, the odds and it spits out returns straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. There’s also the fiddly ones — acca and treble returns, a lucky 15, yankees, and that’s where I always mess it up. If you want a look, it’s over at yankee calc and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.

One thing that really made a difference was the more serious bits. They’ve got an implied probability converter and it makes obvious how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly tool — I use half kelly since full stakes are terrifying. The dutching one is decent for when I’m covering two or three runners.

Couple of gripes. Its interface is very functional, let’s say — zero flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On mobile it’s fine though the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. There’s no proper app, just the site — slight shame just flagging it.

Right, that’s me. Costs nowt, no ads shoved in your face, works. If anyone honestly works out returns on a calculator app, try it — it’s saved me a load of « wait, that’s it? » moments.

  15. Can I simply say what a comfort to discover someone who really knows what they’re talking about on the web. You definitely realize how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people should check this out and understand this side of your story. It’s surprising you aren’t more popular since you most certainly have the gift.

  19. Right — have been messing about with this thing for something like five months now and I keep coming back, reckon I’d write something up since a lad on another thread asked me a few days back. I’m in the UK, mostly bet football and racing, small stakes, just so you know where I’m coming from.

How I found it was genuinely a bit daft — I couldn’t ever work out what an e/w return actually was with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just eyeball it and get a shock. These days I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even the boring singles.

Their single bet calculator is the one I use most — type in your stake, the odds and it shows profit and total return straight away, either odds format. Same tool covers the fiddly ones — trebles maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, yankees, honestly that’s where most people I know mess it up. If you want a look, it’s over at cross and double bet calculator free and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.

One thing that really made a difference is the geekier bits. There’s an implied probability calculator which shows you the overround, and there’s the kelly staking tool — I stick to fractional kelly as the full version is terrifying. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit when I’m splitting a race.

Couple of gripes. The layout looks a bit basic — zero polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On my phone it’s fine but the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. There’s no proper app, it’s browser only — doesn’t bother me but you asked.

So yeah. Free, barely any ads, does what it says. If anyone even now adds it up in their head, try it — saves me plenty of arguments with the bookie.

  26. May I simply say what a comfort to find an individual who truly knows what they’re talking about on the web. You certainly realize how to bring a problem to light and make it important. A lot more people have to look at this and understand this side of the story. I was surprised that you are not more popular because you certainly have the gift.

  29. OK — have been messing about with this thing for about a few months now and I keep coming back, reckon I’d say something since a lad on another thread asked me last week. Am in the UK, mostly do football and horses, nothing mad, so take it how you like.

The reason I started using it was actually embarrassing — I never could work out what an e/w return actually was when the place terms changed. I’d just guess and then be surprised. Now I punch the numbers in before every slip, even the boring singles.

Their single bet calculator tool is the part I use most — you drop in stake and odds and you get profit and total return instantly, either odds format. There’s also the fiddly ones — trebles returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, a yankee, honestly that’s where I’d always got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it’s here irish lottery yankee bet calculator — free, no signup.

What genuinely changed how I bet was the nerdier tools. The implied probability calculator and it makes obvious how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly calculator — I use half kelly as the full version is far too aggressive. The dutching one is handy too when I’m covering two or three runners.

Not all sunshine though. The layout is pretty plain — not much frills, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On mobile it’s fine although the lucky 63 breakdown need a bit of scrolling. There’s nothing on the app store, just the site — slight shame but you asked.

Right, that’s me. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, works. If you even now does the maths on paper, try it — saved me a load of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
